Since 1981, the AANA Foundation has worked to improve the science of anesthesia by developing and supporting numerous research opportunities and educational programs.  Both education and high-level research are critical to improving anesthesia patient safety and advancing the anesthesia profession, and both are vital to successful professional advocacy. In order to support and fund research and education within the nurse anesthesia profession, the AANA Foundation created the Proof is Power Annual Fund.
